1. If you have trouble downloading the FxMagnetic™ software, it could be your anti-virus or Windows protection system giving you a false positive alert. You must tell your web browser or protection system to “Keep” the file and report it as safe.
  2. Check the “Allow DLL imports” in Tools->Options->Expert Advisors. This is required for both indicator and Autotrader (EA). If you are using Autotrader (EA), then on the same window, check “Allow automated trading” as well.
  3. Make sure you have enough bars on the chart. The problem is that not all brokers give enough bars on the chart.
Two ways to download more data.
    1. Turn off auto-scroll on the chart and scroll the chart to the earliest date possible (the fastest way to press and hold a HOME key on the keyboard until the chart stops scrolling);
    2. Download more history data from the Tools->History Center if possible (not all pairs are available). For 25 signals on the chart, the indicator needs 20,000 bars. For 50 signals, it’s 30,000 bars; for 100 signals, you should have 60,000 bars. How many bars you have on the chart is displayed on the right below the win rate and other stats.
  4. Make sure you attach the indicator only once per each chart. Check to see if you have only one in the “Indicators” list if you have trouble running the indicator on any of your charts.
  5. If you attach the FxMagnetic™ indicator on the chart and don’t have any stats or the panel does not appear, check the EXPERTS tab at the bottom of MT4 for any error messages. There should be a message explaining the error. One common reason for this problem is if you forgot to copy the DLL library file to your MT4 in case you manually installed the indicator to your MT4.
  6. The monitor can sleep, but the computer cannot sleep and must be active all the time with MT4 online and EA on the chart. If the computer is sleeping, offline, or off, FxMagnetic™ cannot work.
  7. If you start the Autotrader (EA) in the “Independent Mode”, then do this only when the indicator has no current signal (you’ll see **NO SIGNAL** message on the right info dashboard). If you start the Autotrader in the “Independent Mode” while there’s an active signal from the indicator, the Autotrader will not be able to place that trade because it is too late, but it might get into a different trade on a signal which will be ignored by the indicator (because it already has a signal). This does not apply if you use EA in the “Sync Mode” (recommended and set by default).
  8. If you have 2 or more Autotraders (EA) running on the same pair, they must have different magic numbers. If you do not set different magic numbers, only one EA will place trades (and you never know which one will get a chance to do that).
  9. If the Autotrader does not execute trades, but you see signals from the indicator on the same chart, you should do these things.
    1. Check the EXPERTS tab at the bottom of MT4 for errors or warning messages. Any messages from the Autotrader?
    2. Ensure the Autotrading function is enabled on your MT4 and that your broker allows you to use trading bots (EA). We’ve seen some brokers disable EA trading on their servers, and we cannot be responsible for that.
    3. Check the EXPERTS or JOURNAL tabs at the bottom of MT4 for any error or warning messages that might help you understand why EA cannot open trades.
    4. Ensure that your lot size in the EA is not too big for your account size and leverage.
    5. If in “Independent Mode”: Double-check if you have the same settings and the same trading strategy for the indicator and Autotrader.
    6. If you have 2 or more Autotraders (EA) running on the same pair, they must have different magic numbers. If you do not set different magic numbers, only one EA will place trades (and you never know which one will get a chance to do that).
  10. You may see different results, stats, and signals on different brokers. I call it the “Broker Data Paradox”, and there’s a video about that in the video course. There are mainly 2 reasons for this (“different prices” and “different amount of history data”):
    1. Brokers have different prices from different liquidity providers. It’s like shopping for candies in different stores (or different countries). We cannot control that, so we ignore it and live with it.
    2. Brokers have a different amount of historical data to provide for customers. For example, FxChoice provides several years of data, and it’s more than enough for FxMagnetic™ to calculate the stats, etc. While some other brokers provide just a few months of data, and you cannot see enough signals on the chart.
SOLUTION: Use “History Data Center” to download the data (I teach this in the video course), or use the FxChoice demo for trading with FxMagnetic and then use Local Trade Copier™ (www.mt4copier.com) to copy trades to any other broker MT4/MT5 that you want.
