FxMagnetic Launches Flow Trader App: Automated Moving Average Strategies for Forex and Prop Firm Traders
Dubai, UAE – August 31, 2025 — A new trading automation tool has been introduced by FxMagnetic, extending its comprehensive suite of strategy-focused applications. The newly released FxMagnetic Flow Trader enables traders to create, test, and run automated strategies built around classic moving average models, all within the MetaTrader 4 environment.
This latest update is part of the platform’s Version 1.5.1 release, which includes system-wide improvements, additional trade filters, and greater execution stability. Designed with both forex retail traders and proprietary trading account managers in mind, the Flow Trader app offers multiple entry methods, risk controls, and data-rich backtesting—all accessible without coding expertise.
The global rollout reflects a growing demand for visual strategy builders that align with the trading rules imposed by modern prop firms while still being powerful enough for independent trading.
A Flexible Framework for MA-Based Trading Strategies
Flow Trader is designed around four well-established moving average methods that traders frequently rely on to identify trends and pullbacks:
- Dual MA Crossover
- MOMO Strategy (as seen in strategies by Kathy Lien)
- Price/MA Crossover
- MA Pullback (used in setups like Linda Raschke’s Holy Grail)
Each method can be fine-tuned using parameter inputs and enhanced with a range of trade filters. These combinations allow traders to simulate and validate strategies in real time using historical chart data, with each trade marked visually for clear performance analysis.
New Filters Boost Precision and Strategic Control
Alongside the new application, FxMagnetic has rolled out a series of universal trade filters that can now be applied across all supported apps, including:
- MACD Histogram Filter – Executes trades in line with bullish or bearish momentum.
- ADX Filter – Enables trades only when trend strength is confirmed.
- ATR Filters – Define trading conditions based on increasing or decreasing volatility.
One of the most impactful additions is the FxMagnetic SR Levels Filter, which uses key price levels from the previous trading day (Open, High, Low, Close) to identify significant support and resistance zones. This filter helps isolate better trade locations and reduce false entries.
All filters are now integrated into the platform’s backtesting engine, making it easier to build structured strategies that comply with prop firm drawdown limits and daily trading guidelines.
Execution Upgrades and Platform Enhancements
In addition to new features, Version 1.5.1 introduces several under-the-hood improvements:
- Exit Time Sync Fix – Ensures that trades close correctly at specified times, even when synced with indicator logic.
- Broker Error Handling (Error 133) – Prevents the system from repeatedly retrying trades if the broker has disabled trading.
- Artificial Spread Simulation Enhancements – Improves the realism of backtests by applying broker-like spread conditions.
A fix was also released for the Hull Shield indicator, which previously experienced platform crashes. To use this feature with Flow Trader or any other app in the suite, users must update to version 1.0.2.
Supporting Traders Who Build with Structure
According to the development team at FxMagnetic, Flow Trader reflects the growing need for accessible, logic-based trading automation—particularly in the context of prop trading evaluations.
“Moving average strategies are among the most widely used in the market. With Flow Trader, the idea was to provide a clean framework to test them, customize them, and automate them—with the flexibility to adapt as conditions change,” one team member shared.
Flow Trader is now available as an individual app or as part of the FxMagnetic ULTRA Plan, which includes access to all premium tools and future releases. Members of the FxMagnetic Mastermind program also receive it as part of their subscription.
